Long term jackstand support

Postby barnesjtsl » Tue May 09, 2017 10:38 am

79 2000.

So finally going to get to those ball joints. Gonna replace the ball joints and use my old control arms. Also replacing the shocks, tie rods and ends and the cross member. I have many things going on right now and I'm was hoping to do this over a period of time, maybe a couple of weeks.

So I have looked through the board and determined that the best place to put jackstands to support the front end of the car is the
crossmember under the engine? Is there a problem with jacking up the entire front end and supporting the car with two jackstands under the crossmember and leaving it like that for a couple of weeks?

Anyone have any other ideas on how to keep the car supported like this for a copule of weeks other than under the cross member?
