Electronic Distributor Options

Postby PatTroy » Fri Feb 03, 2017 9:33 am

Anybody running north of 9k? I know of a few, but I was curious if people are getting by with a stock (or Pertronix) dizzy or if anyone has gone this fast with the Computronix (which claims 8k capability).

Opinions wanted!

Wow, the only 9k associated with my Fiat might be the dollars I've dropped into it. Do people really run these motors at 9,000 rpm?

For the record, I've been completely satisfied with Mark's Computronix.

The shorter stroke TC's can go that high if properly prepared. No point with stock carb or cams, as power falls off over ~6000 rpm.

Definitely not stock carb or cams!

Is the computronix the one with different curve settings?

our Computronix unit has electronic timing and the curve is what Guy Croft recommends for the TC

Thanks Mark. Can you confirm it's capable to 9k?
