You can't. Edit it to read "post deleted".

Good luck with the rotisserie, your back will thank you!

Several weekends later ... making good progress taking car apart. Here are some photos. If anyone wants a specific photo from a particular angle, I'll be happy to accommodate, simply drop me a line and let me know what you need a photo of.

I have two questions

1. I do not have the special tool needed to remove the door handle. Can someone tell me either where to get one or what I can use in it's place to accomplish the task?

2. In one of the photos you will see where I chipped away at what I believe was insulation glued to the floor...is it necessary to remove all of the beforehand or is that something that will come off when I get the body sand blasted?

Thanks all!

1. It's the tool on the right in this set: https://www.harborfreight.com/4-piece-windshield-door-trim-tool-set-38386.html

2. Sand or media blasting won't remove the undercoating. You'll have to have the car baked, or chip the stuff off. There are several posts relating to DIY methods.

If you haven't fixed the driver's floor yet, ask around. There might be someone with that section from an original Spider in good condition a lot cheaper than the aftermarket ones. There are crazy people like me who keep extra floorboards, fenders, back panels, etc., around, but I live in California so I'm a long distance away.

Congrats regarding taking on your project. As everyone said, photos, notes and lots of detailed tags. The 71 I have now and the 79 I had have both been stripped down completely. It's time consuming, but a lot of fun when you know every inch of the car.

In the disassembly of my 78 Fiat Spider I have decided to replace certain interior parts with something new (not the original style) hence I have a many parts that I will not reuse and would be willing to sell to anyone who can put them to good use. I will compose a list this week, but if there is anything special that someone wants, let me know and if I am not going to reuse it, I'll gladly let it go.
