I just got my registration renewal this week too. My registration went up almost 30% over last year. Add that to our gas tax increases and it is insane. According to GasBuddy.com, California's prices at $3.33 per gallon are only exceeded by Hawaii at $3.40. The nationwide average is $2.52. Then, we also have to emissions test our cars every two years if the car was made after 1975. Oh the joy of living in this state.

this is my first renewal. thought the amount was funny.
yep, with a '79 I will need to smog again in a year. wish the bill to change it to 1980 would get some legs.

I have a buddy in Loomis; near you. Will be driving though your way in June.
Been rebuilding and should have to road worthy for a Tahoe trip.

I am in Concord.

I don't like that at all...I mean, nice number , but where I am it's $60/yr for regular tags or for 25+ yr old cars, you can ge antique tags that are $66 and never need to be renewed.

well that's CA. And, our roads suck.
And our gas is higher than just about anywhere else; with 4 refineries within 20 miles

it's just not right...and you have the best cars in the country, especially in the derelict class (ie, a derelict car in CA is probably a pretty OK project, or a good start in other parts of the country)

Yep and planning a ride along such roads. June: the winding roads to and around Tahoe.
Have a lot to do between now and then

It does get pretty dang hot in July and Aug in Lincoln, but I have no problems with my car overheating though. I may overheat, but not the car. :)
