HI I'm brand new to this forum and I must be missing something although I've spent a good deal of time trying to find what I'm looking for. I can't seem to find any How To's (e.g. How to remove master cylinder, How to bleed the cooling system, How To adjust the valves, etc. ON other forums I've seen a section dedicated to this sort of thing. I own a 79 Spider 2000. I apologize if this is terribly obvious and I missed it.
Searching the technical forums doesn't return anything but continuous threads discussing the progress or pitfalls of one task or another, but I'll be damned if I can find intstructions for anything.
Thanks
How To or DIY section?

Re: How To or DIY section?
There really isn't a section like you describe on this forum. If you don't have one already, I suggest getting the shop manual for the 1975 to 1982 spiders (I have it electronically so it must be available somewhere online). You can also search on this forum for something like "replace master cylinder". Finally, you can just ask about a particular job and someone (often me) will answer. Make sure to put the question in the appropriate technical forum.

Re: How To or DIY section?
Hi Bryan,
Thanks for your reply. I wasn't sure my post got to you. It's a shame there's no DIY section. I think it would be really helpful to many of us. It's so hard to get simple information by scrolling through pages of posts on a particular search term. Any chance that section could be created. I'm sure many competent tech guys would love to post directions to some simple tasks. You could read through a submission and decide if it was worthy to add to the section assuming you have the time. I would also be willing to help.
What do you think about this idea? I've got a lot of experience turning wrenches and could help moderate any submissions. I'm a fairly good writer and would be able to assess and/or edit prospects. I've been working on foreign cars since I was 20. Mostly British and Swedish. I'm 70 now. But I'm new to Fiat 124 Spiders. My son and I are restoring a carburetor 79. New paint, single plane manifold and Weber, completely new brake overhaul and the list goes on.
Anyway, let me know your thoughts.
Regards, Tony
Also on an unrelated note, when a user posts a link to another thread, for example, (http://www.fiatspider.com/f15/viewtopic ... an#p250549) the link just brings up the home page of FiatSpider.com, not the topic that the link points too.

Tony, I think what you're describing is available on Mirafiori.com, another Fiat 124 site that is much more active. For reasons that go back quite a number of years, there was a "parting of ways" between various individuals, and as a result, Mirafiori is much more active. I don't know much more than that.
I don't have administrator privileges on this website, nor am I looking for them. I just like helping folks with their Fiats, learning something along the way, and so I use both sites.
You have to sign up at Mirafiori, and I know it can take several attempts as they have dozen of trolls and hackers attempting to sign up every day and then post crap.
