this is an exercise fraught with peril. having an extra person or 2 is a must. the hood is held on by each hinge with 2 bolts each. remove the spring or the sliding rod first. once this is disconnected, the hood is free to swing forward until something you dont want to happen happens, so one person's job it to keep this from happening. best to loosen all 4 bolts until they are almost ready to fall out. while holding the hood on both sides in a near vertical position, remove the 4 bolts and lift the hood away. If you dont have any help, you can open the hood and clamp the top to a vertical 2x4. this will help hold the hood, but it is still very unstable and easy to lose control. good luck, you will need it
